Hao Zhang is a System Architect Scientist at 4Paradigm Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. degree of Computer Science at the School of Computing (SoC), National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017. He received his B.Sc. in computer science, from the Harbin Institute of Technology, in 2012. He also studied at I-Shou University, Taiwan from Sep. 2010 to Jan. 2011 as an exchange student, and worked at Baidu Inc. from Oct. 2011 to Apr. 2012 as an intern.
During his Ph.D. career, he was supervised under Prof. Beng Chin Ooi, and was a member of NUS Database System Research Group. His research interests include in-memory database systems, database system architectures, performance issues, and distributed database systems. He has been working on the in-memory database system - MemepiC since 2012, with focus on the performance issues inherited from the traditional database architecture, new challenges on in-memory database systems, and utilization of newly-emerged hardware (e.g., RDMA, HTM).
